Your role

The Team:

You will be part of the Upstream Transformation Team, which is focused on helping oil and gas stakeholders manage all aspects of the energy transition. The team is dedicated to providing the critical information needed for oil industry players to reduce and offset greenhouse gas emissions, improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their businesses, capture the commercial opportunities presented by the energy transition, and benchmark their performances against their peers.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate key low-carbon segments (e.g., hydrogen, CCUS, mobility) to document and analyze their significant technological, regulatory, and commercial trends and developments.
  • Monitor and document oil and gas company commitments and activities in these low-carbon segments.
  • Aggregate and organize collected information via databases and Power BI dashboards; provide insights into key trends and developments via short written reports.
  • Support the team’s broader research initiatives, client engagements, and industry event participation.

About you

What S&P Global is looking for:

  • Recent Graduate, preferably in the field of petroleum engineering, geology, or any energy-related discipline. A post-graduate degree is a plus. (The candidate must not have a prior employment history)
  • Demonstrably strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI).
  • Knowledge of the energy and oil & gas sectors is beneficial.
  • Highly detail-oriented and inquisitive, especially when faced with information gaps and uncertainty.
  • Able to summarize and describe complex issues clearly and concisely.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Able to collaborate with a range of colleagues globally.
