Your role

S&P Global Commodity Insights’ Apprenticeship Program is a 12-month skill development program. They are seeking candidates who will be working as a Petroleum Engineer Product Owner, overseeing setting priorities, defining, and evaluating the work produced by software Scrum teams. Acting as the subject matter expert for 1-2 development teams, you will play a key role in shaping both current and future capabilities. You will collaborate closely with key clients to identify their needs or challenges and integrate these insights with the internal strategy to develop actionable technical requirements for the software development teams. This role also provides an opportunity to collaborate with teams located globally (USA, Canada, UK, Poland, and India).

Responsibilities

  • Act as the engineering subject matter expert for 1-2 development teams.
  • Develop/sharpen expertise in areas of petroleum engineering where software development is needed.
  • Meet with clients to understand the underlying problem. Transform client requests and other business requirements into technical requirements that can be implemented by the software development teams.
  • Define the scope of development, prioritize the backlog, and set criteria for accepting or rejecting work.
  • Involved daily with clarifying requirements, overcoming design obstacles, and making informed decisions in a timely fashion.

Kindly note

  • Working Hours: 12 PM - 9 PM IST
  • Work Hybrid Setup: Twice onsite work is required weekly.

About you

What they’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum, Reservoir, or Production Engineering.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English.
  • Takes initiative and follows through with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, solve problems and make decisions.
  • Collaborative and consensus building work style.
  • Reservoir and/or production experience in unconventional and conventional assets is preferred.
  • Involvement in agile software development is preferred.
