S&P Global Commodity Insights is seeking candidates for their 12-month Apprenticeship program within the Data Team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in seismic data analysis and content operations within the global energy industry.

Responsibilities
Extract seismic data from Australian acquisition and processing reports, as well as other state databases. This may involve downloading reports and exploring the use of AI tools, such as Spark Assist, to streamline the process.
Utilize SEG-Y seismic data from Brazil and the US to create cross-sections and time slices for their image database. This includes loading the data and following specified guidelines from the Product Manager.
Conduct research on seismic information sources, with a focus on S.E. Asia. Perform web searches for seismic imagery and documents and utilize tools like IRIS and GIS for data analysis.
Maintain and update links between GEPS articles and ES_IDs, ensuring accurate reporting and documentation of geophysical surveys. Keep track of new seismic surveys discovered by the team.
Assist in identifying child surveys in merged seismic surveys by utilizing the existing database and GIS tools. This involves geographical identification and data entry.
Support the team with additional tasks as required, focusing on seismic data analysis and management.
About you
Basic required qualifications
Graduate/Postgraduate in Geology, Geophysics, or related science.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with seismic data accurately.
Experience with any AI tools and basic knowledge of SQL, Python, and Power Automate.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
Additional preferred qualifications
Familiarity with advanced GIS tools and seismic data analysis software.
Previous experience in the energy industry or geophysical surveys.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Strong interest in continuous learning and keeping up to date with industry advancements.
